Delayed the start of classes until 10 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 27) due to winter weather.

Classes scheduled to start before that time may be canceled or delivered online at the instructor’s discretion.

Texas Tech and Texas Tech University System employees should report at 9:30 a.m. or as directed by their supervisor.

Buses should begin running on a normal schedule at approximately 9 a.m.

City of Lubbock Offices to Open at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday

Due to current weather conditions, the City of Lubbock offices will delay opening until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27.

The early voting location in the lobby of Citizens Tower, located at 1314 Avenue K, will open at 8:00 a.m. as posted.

Lubbock County Emergency Management

Due to the Inclement Winter Weather conditions, Lubbock County announces the Following:

1. All essential functions such as Law Enforcement Operations, Detention Center Operations, Elections Operations, Facilities Operations and Public Works Operations will operate at normal hours and operations.

2. Because Voting is an Essential Function, Early Voting Site are not affected by this delay.

3. All other County Offices will delay opening until 10:00 A.M. this morning.

With the extreme winter weather conditions, we encourage citizens to stay at home if possible and to drive with extreme caution if you have to travel today.

The City of Lubbock and Lubbock Police Department will continue to monitor conditions and may close additional roads as needed.
