‘Golf Fore 10’ Scholarship Seeking Scholarship Applicants
The Knights of Columbus are proud to serve our communities and families in Lubbock and surrounding areas. In recognition of our commitment to serve others, a scholarship fund raiser, ‘Golf Fore Ten’, was established for the purpose of aiding an incoming freshman in the South Plains Area. The Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Guadalupe Council 11807 created this scholarship as a way of encouraging students to follow their dreams by attending a college and/or university.
The “Golf Fore 10’ Scholarship will provide ten (10) incoming college freshman student with a one-time $1,000.00 scholarship to be used for the 2020 school year.
Requirements: To be eligible, the following must be mailed to P.O. Box 3835, Lubbock, Texas 79452 (c/o Golf Fore 10 Scholarship) and received by July 6th, 2020
Completed scholarship application, which includes a list of community service and extra-curricular activities participated in during high school
Essay and two (2) letters of recommendation
Letters should support at least one of the community service/and or the extra-curricular activities listed in the application.
Copy of official high school transcript
The Essay: Write an Essay entailing an experience or person that influenced your desire to continue your education. Indicate your objectives. You may want to include information about your educational, career, and personal goals.
Essay Format: Essay text shall be limited to two (2) pages in length, printed single-sided on standard 8 ½” x 11” paper. Text shall use a 12-point minimum type or font size and shall be single-spaced. All margins shall be a minimum of 1”. Use your NAME and ESSAY as the title.
Selection Criteria: The scoring of responses will be based on the following:

Notification: Recipients will be selected by an impartial selection committee consisting of members of the Knights of Columbus. Final selection will be determined by July 27th, 2020 and awarded scholarship will be presented by Knights of Columbus Council 11807, location to be determined. Time and Date to be announced later as well, pending location. Payment of the scholarship will be made directly to the college, upon written notification of student’s acceptance and fees.
