LARW to Meeting June 15

Lubbock Area Republican Women will host our next meeting on Thursday, June 15 at Hillcrest Country Club at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Lubbock County Sheriff Kelly Rowe. The luncheon is $16.00 per person and includes all charges for the meal, tax, and gratuity. RSVP by Monday, June 12 to: 806-831-3168. The public and media are invited to attend.
Kelly Rowe began his career in Lubbock in 1999 when he was appointed Administrative Lieutenant of the Detention Division. He was promoted to Captain in the Detention Branch and later transferred to Law Enforcement. Shortly after he formed the transition team, selecting the initial staff, working to ensure all oversight and tasks were completed for the new Detention Center. He was promoted to the position of Chief Administrator which had the responsibility for all Sheriff’s Office budgets and funds. He was also a member of the Tactical Operations Unit and was the Commander of the Honor Guard.
In September 2009, Kelly Rowe was appointed by the Lubbock County Commissioners’ Court to the position of Sheriff. He was elected in March 2010 and has continue to serve in that capacity. LARW is honored to have Sheriff Kelly Rowe as our guest speaker.
Officers of LARW for 2016 are: President, Neva Haney; 1st Vice President, Jane Cansino; 2nd Vice President, GayLynn Hobgood; Treasurer, Lisa Sawyer; Recording Secretary, Dorothy Price. Lubbock Area Republican Women meet the 3rd Thursday of each month. The organization focuses on education and information to the public on local, state and federal issues and candidates. Membership is open to all adult women and men and encourages participation of young people who are interested in learning more about involvement in political issues.
