Press Release Game Room Ordinance Vote 3-2 Against Regulation

LUBBOCK COUNTY — Commissioner Jason Corley attempted to re-introduce his proposed ordinance to regulate game rooms in Lubbock County. The current lack of regulation has created an environment where criminal activity thrives in game rooms ranging from money laundering to drug dealing and human trafficking.

Judge Curtis Parrish along with Commissioners Terrance Kovar and Gilbert Flores opposed bringing the ordinance back up for discussion despite input from numerous concerned citizens. Commissioner Corley would like to extend his thanks to Commissioner Jordan Rackler and the many members of the public who spoke during public comment for standing with him in support of this important public safety issue.
