Memorial to be Held by Local Veteran Groups
A collection of veteran organizations will gather to hold a Memorial Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 8:13 p.m. close to sunset at the Monument of Courage.
"We will honor and pray for the 13 lost yesterday and the 18 wounded plus numerous civilians lost or wounded, said Danny Koch, spokesperson for the group.
He said that they are also asking the public to turn on their porch light Saturday night at sunset through sunrise on Sunday morning to offer cover to the families of those lost or wounded.
In addition, they are asking all to wear Purple on Sunday.
The 13 US service members were killed in Thursday's suicide attack outside of Kabul's international airport.
