Three Arrested for Vandalizing Vehicles in Lubbock Neighborhoods

Three people are in jail this morning, charged with criminal mischief and organized crime related to vehicles being vandalized with a BB gun.

At approximately 1:50 a.m. this morning, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 93rd Street in reference to a vehicle that had just been damaged. The owner had called police after hearing a loud noise of glass breaking and then people laughing. He walked outside and discovered the back window of his vehicle was shattered.

As the officer questioned the victim, another officer began to patrol the area to locate the suspects. The officer spotted a suspicious vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After questioning the three occupants and recovering a BB gun from inside the vehicle, the three individuals were arrested.

All three, 33-year-old Adam Smith, 24-year-old Hannah Fritz, and 21-year-old Andrew Hageter, are charged with a state jail felony criminal mischief and a third degree felony of organized crime.

Additional officers responded to the 2100 and 2200 blocks of 93rd Street to canvass the area for other possible victims. A total of 17 vehicles were found with window damage consistent with them being shot out by a BB gun.

Investigators with the Property Crimes Unit are questioning the three individuals to see if there could be additional charges or if this case is related to the other strings of vehicle vandalism we have been seeing over the last few months.
