Statement by BNHR Executive Director Fernando Garcia, about Trump's False Reference about El Pas
"Trump lied to the nation about El Paso at the State of the Union. He openly distorted the facts and the reality of our border region to justify the unjustifiable: his absurd obsession of a Border Wall. El Paso has been declared the safest city, long before the construction of ridiculous walls. El Paso is safe due to its people, the good community relation with law enforcement, and the trust of all communities in our local institutions. El Pasoans should be offended by the way the President used our community to advance his racist and xenophobic agenda." The Border Network for Human Rights (BNHR), founded in 1998, is one of the leading human rights advocacy and immigration reform organizations located at the U.S./Mexico Border. BNHR has over 7,000 members in West Texas and Southern New Mexico. [if !supportLineBreakNewLine]
