Emma Gonzalez of Douglas High Calls Out Trump, Politicians & NRA (#WeCallBS)
18-year-old Emma Gonzalez has become an unexpected leader. The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School senior survived the mass shooting that killed 17 of her schoolmates, and in the wake of that tragedy she's risen as a national pro-gun control force. It's only been a few days but this young Latina is transforming her peers, her community, and U.S. culture. She, along with a handful of other Douglass High School survivors, has called for a national school walkout on March 14, a march on Washington on March 24 and a national high school walkout on April 20. Emma and her fellow Douglas H.S. student leaders are using #ENOUGH on social media to get their point across, and it's working. Her eloquent, impromptu and impassioned speech the day after the shooting and her many TV news appearances since have propelled her to national prominence. I think she's someone to watch. You can listen to her first speech, the one that media is calling the "We call BS" speech, HERE.
